SA Offshore Windfarm Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australis Energy Ltd.
Australis is an offshore windfarm developer / origination company, with significant project delivery experience in the UK. The company is focused on opportunities offshore Australia where three projects are being pursued in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Australis is led by Chairman Mark Petterson who played major roles in the liberalisation of the UK energy markets before becoming a pioneer in the offshore wind in the UK sector. At Warwick Energy he led the development of three successful offshore wind projects, totalling around 10% (800MW) of the UK’s capacity, including the Thanet project, the world’s largest offshore wind farm when it was commissioned in 2010. Two of these projects at Thanet (300MW) and Dudgeon (402MW) are similar in size, and water depth, to the proposed SA Offshore Windfarm project.
Joint MD, Andrew Hindle’s experience includes managing companies, coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, and securing planning permissions for two large energy storage projects. These projects involved liaison with multiple stakeholders and securing onshore and offshore landholder agreements and easements for multiple onshore sites and connecting infrastructure.
Joint MD, Dave Gaudoin, spent 10 years in Australia working for Santos as Offshore Exploration Manager and with AWE as General Manager, Geoscience and Exploration. Dave has had direct experience of managing projects offshore in Australia and brings a strong network of business and regulatory partners. Dave holds dual UK/Australian citizenship.
Arup Australia Pty Ltd, part of a global engineering and environmental group with extensive windfarm experience in Europe and Asia, is providing consulting expertise to the project.
